About Me

Hello! I'm October Anderson but all my friends call me Toby. My grandpa taught me to knit when I was ten years old and I have kept expanding my fibre arts skills and knowledge ever since. After learning to knit, crochet, macrame, spin yarn, weave and use a flatbed knitting machine, the logical next step was to learn to dye. And I fell in love with it! I started my dye studio October Knits in Perth Ontario in 2025, and the response has been absolutely incredible. Being a fibre artist who is also a gay trans man connects me with the very long rich history of queer people using fibre arts to express our vibrant identities and fight for our liberation long before the first recognizable Pride flag was ever flown. My mission is to provide vibrant unapologetic colour in natural fibres for your next revolutionary creation.
