I often use these mini skeins as a “yarn mop” when dyeing. I keep a damp one on hand to wipe up any dye leftover in the measuring utensils or the bottom of the bottle or if the dye bath doesn’t fully clear. I also use them to experiment with new colours and combinations. Most are variegated or irregularly tonal, and I always have bare stock available.
